Transmeta Joins Board of Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC)

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif.—February 10, 2004—The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium today announced that Transmeta Corporation has joined EEMBC as a member of the consortium’s board of directors.

As a member of the EEMBC® board, Transmeta will enjoy full voting rights on all issues decided by the consortium and have access to source code for all of the EEMBC benchmarks. This will allow Transmeta to take an active role in the development of future benchmarks that will become industry standards.

“We are delighted to welcome Transmeta as a board member and participant in the development of the next generation of EEMBC benchmarks,” said Markus Levy, EEMBC president. “Transmeta’s considerable experience in developing processors for portable computing devices makes its involvement in EEMBC particularly valuable as we move forward with the development of benchmarks for handheld digital entertainment systems.”
